This meditation is based on the Zen meditation practice known as Zazen. Two great qualities that Zen develops are open awareness and equanimity. In this practice, you'll meditate with your eyes open and take in any sounds, sights, thoughts, and other phenomena just as it is. Zazen is ideally practiced in a quiet setting but given the nature of the practice, it can be done anywhere. All you need to do is sit and take in everything!
