In this short instructional video I introduce my favorite training tool the Steel Mace. I will go over grip orientation, landmarks, and hand switches. This will help gain a basic understanding of how to hold and handle the steel mace and learn the language I use when training with this tool.
I have worked with the steel mace for several years and teach the Steel Mace certification for The Onnit Academy as the Steel Mace Senior Coach. I work as assistant coach to Onnit Academy’s Master Coach Erik Melland who created the curriculum for this tool.
This video is great for beginners who’ve never used a steel mace and want to learn to build a strong foundation to grow or those who just want to refine their practice and gain a deeper understanding of cues and form. I would suggest using the steel mace and follow along with me. Be sure to watch the next intro video to learn basic steel mace exercises .
If you don’t have a Steel Mace you can buy them online through the Onnit website.
